Norwich Police Department

The Norwich Police Department is located in the Town of Norwich, Vermont. We are currently staffed by three full-time police officers, a full-time police chief, and a full-time administrative assistant.  The Norwich Police Department also has part-time officers to help cover needed hours.

The Norwich Police Department's administrative assistant, Judy Powell is in the office  Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm to answer any questions

MISSION STATEMENT

The Norwich Police Department is a community oriented department whose mission is to fairly and equally enforce laws, reinforce public trust, and inspire public confidence. Officers will perform their duties following the values of Honesty, Loyalty, Professionalism, Integrity, Courage, and Respect.

We will work collaboratively with the community towards effective problem resolution. We will support education efforts directed towards enhancing public safety and crime prevention.
  • In order to maintain the public's trust and support, we must hold ourselves to the highest ethical and professional standard.
  • We each have a duty and obligation to play an active role in improving internal operations and delivery of services to the community.
  • We provide consistent and equal treatment to all through courteous and impartial service.
  • With continuous improvement we need to plan for growing technology, education and training, remaining open to new ideas and concepts in Law Enforcement.
