Property Tax Bills

Pay Taxes by ACH, Credit Card or E-Check

Property tax bills for the fiscal year are issued in mid-July to the property owners of record as of April 1. If you purchase a property after April 1, you should request the tax bill from the seller or contact this office for a copy.

The payment dates for the current 2010 tax bill were voted to be August 13, 2010 and February 11, 2011.  Postmarks by the U.S. Post Office are accepted.

STATE OF VERMONT HS-122 HOMESTEAD DECLARATION & PROPERTY TAX ADJUSTMENT CLAIM:

    • HS-122 needs to be filed every year by April 15th by residents who own and occupy a Vermont homestead on April 1.
    • The education property tax payment (prebate) and property tax rebate are combined into one education property tax adjustment.
    • Payment of property tax adjustments are credited directly to individual tax bills and are applied equally to each installment.
    • Homeowners may designate all or part of their income tax refund to pay property taxes.
    • There is a 1% penalty on the education tax for the late filing of form HS-122 Homestead Declaration.
