RE: Payment of Taxes by ACH, Credit Card, or e-check

In response to citizen requests, the Town of Norwich offers to its taxpayers the option of paying taxes using additional methods.

The first option is through the use of ACH transactions. The form can be found on www.norwich.vt.us/town_departments/finance_office then click on Pay Taxes by ACH, Credit Card or e-check.  This form gives us permission to withdraw the money from your account. The transaction would take place 3 days before each of the two tax installment due dates of each year. This agreement would remain in place until cancelled by you.

Pay Taxes by ACH, Credit Card or E-Check

If you want to use this payment method please fill out the form and return it to us by August 5, 2011.

Another option for taxpayers is the ability to pay taxes either on line or by telephone 1-800-2PayTax (1-800-272-9829).  You may use your credit card or have an e-check created.  By computer go to www.officialpayments.com and at the home page double click on the Local Payments box.  The next page will have the look up, which can be by state and then by town or you can enter Jurisdiction Code 5517.  The credit card fee for tax payments is 3% and there is a $3.00 fee for e-checks.
